About Tempting Eve Reptiles

Tempting Eve Reptiles is the "business" side of my hobby. I enjoy breeding snakes, and the snakes I produce need a good home.

Tempting Eve Reptiles was started in 2007. I am definitely very new on the reptile breeding scene. I hope to do things right, producing healthy animals while fostering good business and customer relations.

My goal is to treat each customer better than I expect to be treated when I purchase a reptile from another breeder. Companies I hope to emulate in my excellent business ethic include The Bean Farm and Reptilian Dreams, both of which treat me like a million dollar customer. Please feel free to let me know how I am doing and how I could do better.

About Me

Howdy. My name is Michael and I'm a herpaholic. But I don't need no 12 step program. I have a passion for North American Colubrids, particularly the constrictors, sometimes referred to as Lampropeltines.

I have a particular fondness for the California Mountain Kingsnake (Lampropeltis zonata) although I do not own any. The Common Kingsnake (Lampropeltis getula) takes a close second, and at some point in time I hope to have at least one breeding pair of each subspecies.

For me breeding is a hobby, I want to see what I possibly can produce with selective breeding. Maybe I can create something new. Even if I do not, however, the attempt is extremely fun and educational.

The animals are my passion, not the potential profit I can make from them. I certainly would like to profit and hope to do so, but the well being of the animals under my care takes priority over money.

Breeding snakes is not only fun to see what possibly might come out of the egg, but it is also fun to meet other people who have a similar passion for reptiles and are working on their own projects. Along that line, I have a profile over at ReptileGeeks that you are more than welcome to view:

I also have a real pleasure in seeing new people come into the hobby, probably because in a way it lets me relive the enthusiasm I experienced when I first got into the hobby. I am always available to answer any questions about proper care and rearing of any snake I sell.
