General Policy
All animals sold are captive bred. I never sell a wild caught animal. Any animal that has needed to have a visit to a veterinarian will have the details of that visit and any treatment fully disclosed before sale.
Any snake sold will be accepting frozen/thawed prey regularly before it is listed as available for sale. Any snake sold will have shed at least once while in my care before it is listed as available for purchase.
All native California species are legally captive bred under California Department of Fish & Game Permit RA0282 unless otherwise noted. A scanned copy of my permit is available upon request.
No sales will be made to individuals under 18 years of age. I reserve the right to request age verification if I have any reasons to suspect the buyer is under 18 years of age. Individuals under 18 years of age should have their parents contact me for the transaction.
No live animals will be shipped to Hawaii or Alaska. No live animals will be shipped outside the United States. I only ship live animals to the 48 states that touch each other.
I reserve the right to refuse your business if I have any reason to suspect you will not take adequate care of the animal.
30 Day Health Guarantee
All animals have a 30 day health guarantee. This guarantee does not cover escapes, physical injury to the animal caused by improper handling or attacks from live prey, or other issues that are the result of improper husbandry. The health guarantee is void if the animal is housed with any other animals during the 30 day period.
Animals will not be shipped within 4 days of feeding. I do not recommend feeding the animal until it has been in your care for another 3 days. Usually it is safe, but sometimes stress related to shipping and a new environment will cause an animal to regurgitate its meal. When a snake regurgitates, it can sometimes cause damage to the snake. The 30 day health guarantee is void if you feed the animal within 72 hours of arrival.
Unfortunately I am only able to guarantee the value of the animal, shipping can not be refunded under the 30 day health guarantee.
Ordering
I do not have a shopping cart system. The quantity of animals I sell is low enough that I would rather not deal with one. Send me an e-mail with the subject line "Snake Order". Put the stock number(s) in the message body along with other relevant information, such as your name, a phone number, etc. and how you want to pay (see Payment for methods.)
You must include a phone number so I can contact you. I will also send you my phone number.
I will e-mail you an invoice. If paying by PayPal, please pay within 48 hours. If paying by USPS money order, please indicate when you will send payment.
Placing a Hold
If you see a specific animal you want me to hold for you, contact me via e-mail to discuss options for placing a hold on an animal until such time as you can pay. Long term holds generally will not be allowed.
Payment
I accept two forms of payment:
Verified PayPal
You can send me payment via PayPal from a verified PayPal account and I will ship to the verified PayPal address and only the verified PayPal address. This strict payment policy is unfortunately necessary because in the past, I have had people pay me from unverified PayPal accounts only to reverse the payment after I shipped what I was selling, leaving me without product and without any recourse to collect.
USPS Money Order
The other method of payment I accept is a United States Postal Service money order. Do not send me a personal check, do not send me a Walmart money order, do not send me any money order other than the kind you purchase at a United States Post Office.
My payment methods are firm. No other method is accepted. To understand why, see http://www.temptingevereptiles.com/scam.php
Shipping Policy
I am located in Redding, CA. Local pickup by arrangement only. All animals will be shipped from Redding, CA.
All reptiles are shipped via FedEx Next Day. It is against the law to send any snake through the United States Postal Service and UPS has made it clear that they do not want my business.
I will check the weather forecast in your area before shipping. If the forecast predicts a temperature above 95F or below 45F either or at your destination or at my point of origin then I will not ship and will notify you via e-mail or phone that shipping has been delayed due to weather.
Please e-mail the day before the scheduled ship date so that I can verify you will be at the destination to receive the animal. If you fail to e-mail me, I will have to try and reach you by phone. If I can not reach you by phone, then the shipping will be delayed.
The easiest thing to do is to e-mail me the day before the agreed upon ship date. For example, if I will be shipping on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery, please e-mail me on Monday verifying that you will be able to receive the animal on Wedensday.
I guarantee a live arrival. In the unlikely event that the animal arrives dead, please contact me by phone immediately to arrange for replacement or full refund.
Disputes
Hopefully there will never be need for third party dispute resolution.
I hope that my policies listed on this page cover all that needs to be covered. In the event that something is not covered in my policy and there is a dispute, I agree to abide by the community consensus at the FaunaClassifieds.com Board Of Inquiry up to but not exceeding a full refund of money paid to me.
Before opening a dispute with me at the Board Of Inquiry, please contact me so that we can try to resolve any issues amicably. If you feel you must open a dispute there, my full legal name is "Michael A. Peters" and I am doing business as "Tempting Eve Reptiles". Please refer to those names in the thread title of any thread you open at the Board of Inquiry with respect to your transaction experiences with me. An e-mail letting me know you have done so would be appreciated.
Contact
I may be contacted at mpeters@mac.com
An actual phone number will be provided to any customers.
